TYWLS at the Workplace: EPAM
At the start of May, tenth graders from The Young Women’s Leadership School of the Bronx had the amazing opportunity to learn about the ins and outs of working for a world-class software engineering, design, and consulting company at EPAM headquarters in Philadelphia.
TYWLS at the Workplace is one of Student Leadership Network’s signature events, where TYWLS students meet with employees from our partner organizations, network with them, and learn about what their jobs look like on a day-to-day basis. TYWLS Bronx students started the day by getting to know some of EPAM’s operations, design, finance, engineering, sales, and HR team members. Throughout the day’s program, our students learned about user experience (UX) design and the difference between an EPAM coop and an internship. EPAM staff encouraged the group of Sophomores to learn skills outside of school if what they’re interested in isn’t an offered course and always to take career advice with a grain of salt. Students wrapped up their day at EPAM with a tour of the trading room and the 42nd Floor Room before setting off for a campus visit to Bryn Mawr College!
We truly appreciate EPAM and its employees for making this day both exciting and informative for our students, and for their continued support of our work in equalizing education.
