We are so proud of our CollegeBound Initiative (CBI) seniors for committing to the next step in their postsecondary lives! Whether they’ve decided to enroll in a SUNY, CUNY, HBCU or another private institution, or even a career program, CBI students have worked with their directors of college counseling (DCCs) to determine the best-fit decision for themselves and their families.

Meet Some of Our CollegeBound Students
This school year, students across the nation faced many challenges with an error-filled new Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the domino effect of delayed financial aid packages and decision deadlines. In a country where only half of students from low-income households enroll in college compared to over two-thirds of their more affluent peers, data shows a high correlation between FAFSA completion and enrollment. CBI’s Class of 2024 FAFSA completion rate is 65% higher than the national rate and still rising!
CBI partners with students, families, and schools to overcome structural barriers to opportunity in under-resourced communities, and create pathways to success. With the support of their DCCs, CBI students enroll at two times the rate of their national peers at their best-fit colleges.

Our directors of college counseling (DCCs), college transition coaches (CTCs), college access team, and CBI support and executive staff have decades upon decades of experience with closing the “degree divide.” With their expertise and leadership, we impact approximately 26,000 students each year as they explore higher education and postsecondary opportunities – and realize their full potential.
