I Decided! Celebrating College Decisions and Career Choices in High School

Our CollegeBound Initiative (CBI) Decision Days are intentional and joyful celebrations of students’ college, career, and service choices after high school. Led by our directors of college counseling in each of our partner high schools, Decision Days have the same intensity and importance as signing days for sports and enhance school-wide college-going cultures. Inspired by the first College Signing Day launched by former First Lady Michelle Obama’s Reach Higher initiative in 2014, our signature annual event has evolved to incorporate celebrations of all postsecondary decisions, including college, trade schools, apprenticeships, and military service!

Hear reflections from Ermelie above, a senior at the High School for Youth and Community Development, about her college application experience and the guidance of her director of college counseling, Alberto Lainez.
