CBI Students Join the Class of 2026 Jordan Wings Scholars
We are thrilled to celebrate three of our CollegeBound Initiative (CBI) seniors who have been selected to join the Class of 2026 Jordan Brand Wings Scholars! Student Leadership Network is one of 23 partner organizations across the country that Jordan Brand collaborates with in order to award outstanding students with full-tuition scholarships. Being part of the Wings family also provides students with ongoing support and a built-in community throughout their college experience and beyond. Read on to meet the CBI Wings Scholars:

Sydney
When Sydney P. traveled to Chicago to attend the Jordan Brand Classic–a showcase for the best high school basketball players in North America–with her director of college counseling (DCC), Magdelyn Gomez, she didn’t realize that she was about to receive some life-changing news. For the first time since 2020, Jordan Brand was able to announce the scholarship winners in-person, and celebrate excellence on the court and in the classroom. Watch a one-minute video to see clips from the event. Congratulations to Sydney who will be attending NYU and spending her first year on the London campus!
Brittany
While Brittany B. was unable to attend the surprise event in Chicago, she was still in for a surprise when she went to her senior class annual Decision Day event at Central Park East. When her director of college counseling (DCC), Gee Salas, called Brittany to the stage, she was shocked to learn that she was joining the Jordan Wings Scholar family! Gee asked Brittany what she would say to Michael Jordan in that moment and Brittany, still in shock but excitedly said, “Thank you so much!” What an amazing and incredible opportunity for Brittany who will be heading to Vanderbilt University this fall.

Esmeralda
Esmeralda was nominated through another Jordan Brand partner organization, The Opportunity Network. However, as a CBI student, we also want to recognize and celebrate Esmeralda who will be taking the next step at the Sophie Davis Biomedical Program at CUNY City College.
When it comes to scholarships like the Jordan Wings Scholars Program, our dedicated CBI team provides personal coaching, support, and encouragement to our students. Whether that means editing a scholarship essay, helping gather financial documents, or preparing for interviews, CBI helps our students eliminate financial barriers to college – and realize their full potential. This is just one of the ways CBI is working to close the degree divide. Learn more about our approach to college access work.
