CollegeBound Summer Institute 2021
Welcome to CBSI 2021!
We are so excited to welcome you to our virtual CBSI month! As you may know, each summer, your Director of College Counseling (DCC) and our overall CBI team have the pleasure of accompanying a select group of rising seniors from across our network (totaling 25 NYC high schools) to Gettysburg College for a 3-day overnight camp called CollegeBound Summer Institute (CBSI). During this 3-day experience, we dive into exploring the college and financial aid application processes under the guidance and instructions of our DCCs, select CBI alumni who are current Gettysburg students (also known as our “Alumni Leaders”), and our dedicated partners at Gettysburg College. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, we aren’t able to have an in-person camp this year. However, we remain committed to sharing important information with you that will give you a jumpstart on understanding some of the key topics you will be tackling this fall as you start your college application journey. With this in mind, each Monday throughout the month of July, you will receive a newsletter that focuses on a specific topic.
Each newsletter will feature helpful resources designed and/or utilized by your DCCs, CBI alumni who are currently enrolled at different college campuses (whom we will continue to refer to as “Alumni Leaders”), CBI’s partner programs (such as Story2), and college representatives who are dedicated to sharing their perspective on your upcoming college application process. You can also look forward to features from CBI’s first College Admissions partner, Darryl Jones, Senior Associate Director of Admissions & Coordinator for Multicultural Admission at Gettysburg College – without whom CBSI would not be possible!
