CollegeBound Initiative (CBI) Gets Ready for Back To School

The first day of school is right around the corner in NYC, and our CollegeBound Initiative (CBI) team is gearing up for back to school. The team recently got together for their annual retreat–and this year was extra special. “It was energizing to have our first in-person retreat in three years,” says Senior Managing Director of CBI, Rob Robinson. He adds, “The CBI retreat is my favorite convening because it helps set the tone for the rest of the year.” And, anyone who was in the room during the retreat would agree that the energy felt like a family reunion!

Over three days, our directors of college counseling (DCCs) have a chance to get to know each other while getting back to the basics of what we do. They also get to hear from CBI’s Associate Directors (ADs) and from other teams that provide various tools and support to help DCCs deepen their impact on students. Rob says, “I am so grateful to the Marketing & Communications, Alumni Engagement, and Data & Systems teams for providing us with the tools to be successful in the next academic year.”

By the end of the retreat, our DCCs felt connected as a community and ready to help our students realize their full potential. And, Rob does not doubt that this is exactly what they will do.”My favorite part is looking out into the room at all of the superstar DCCs who will help guide our students to post-secondary success.”
