CollegeBound Month 2023
May is CollegeBound Month at Student Leadership Network, a time to celebrate our CollegeBound Initiative (CBI) Seniors and alumni as they prepare for the next chapter in their education story! Our CBI program creates a college-going culture at schools, bolstering college access and success, and this month we cheer on our students as they declare which college/university they will attend in the fall. With the support of dedicated directors of college counseling (DCCs), CBI students enroll at 4x the rate of their national peers at their best-fit colleges. We are so proud of the nearly 3,000 CBI seniors in the class of 2023, and we can’t wait to see what they do next!
We invite you to visit our CollegeBound Month page this month to learn more about the CBI Class of 2023 and their college decisions, hear from CBI alumni who are going from CollegeBound to college grads this spring, and send a celebratory e-card to a young person in your life who’s setting off on their postsecondary journey! Our featured seniors and alumni include:
- Joy, a Central Park East High School student who will be attending Howard University
- Aboubakar, a Frederick Douglass Academy student who will be attending Hunter College
- Sean, a Juan Morel Campos student who will be attending SUNY Geneseo
- Janae, a Frederick Douglass Academy student who will be attending Hampton University
- Briana, a Frederick Douglass Academy student who will be attending Syracuse University
- Victoria, a Marble Hill School for International Studies student who will be attending Williams College
- Eileen, a Marble Hill School for International Studies student who will be attending the University of Pennsylvania
- Janna, a TYWLS Queens alumna who is graduating from Hunter College this spring and will be attending the University of Cambridge to pursue her Master of Philosophy in Education
