Aaron Hawn, Ph.D., is the Managing Director of Research & Analytics at Student Leadership Network. With over two decades of experience as a classroom teacher, school administrator, researcher, and consultant, Aaron leads efforts to empower the organization with actionable insights, human-centered information systems, and impactful programs for underserved students.
Aaron’s work focuses on leveraging advanced analytics and comprehensive evaluation to identify best practices, measure impact, create effective systems, and contribute to the knowledge base in educational equity. His research in Learning Analytics has explored educators’ perception and use of information technology, predictive modeling of student outcomes, quasi-experimental evaluation design, and algorithmic bias in education.
Previously, Aaron served as Director of Analytics and Evaluation at a New York City charter school and as a Research Affiliate at the Penn Center for Learning Analytics. He holds a Ph.D. in Cognitive Science in Education and an M.F.A. in Fiction Writing from Columbia University, as well as a B.S. in Anthropology and Spanish from Southern Methodist University.
