TYWLS at the Workplace: Deutsche Bank

This fall, tenth-grade students at TYWLS Astoria got an up-close look at careers and work life at Deutsche Bank. This was our first in-person TYWLS at the Workplace volunteer event since 2019!

TYWLS at the Workplace is a signature volunteer event that coordinates a meaningful day of connection and networking for students at partner companies. Throughout the day, students get to meet employees from the company, learn about their jobs, and what it’s like to work there. Deutsche Bank has been a longtime partner in hosting TYWLS at the Workplace–the latest event was their eighth time hosting the event since 2014!

To kick off the day, students and volunteers participated in an icebreaker that opened up many conversations. Students also heard from a panel of employees representing a cross-section of departments and levels. They also answered questions from students that ranged from college advice to pay equity!

Following lunch, students then participated in job shadowing and were able to gain direct exposure and insight from different departments at Deutsche Bank. The day ended with an exciting tour of the trading room floor. Many thanks to Deutsche Bank for continuing to be a committed partner in our work of closing the gender and education gap.
